RE: MODIFICATIONS TO REGULATION 2174

We have been notified by the California Department of Insurance ("CDI") that the Office of Administrative Law has approved the proposed modifications to Title 10, California Insurance Code of Regulation 2174.1 – 2174.14. These changes became effective February 24, 1999.

The main modifications are:

• An increase in filing fees for new submissions and annual renewals;

• Elimination of sections superceded by California Insurance Code Section 1765.1;

• Clarification of annual renewal and update filing requirements.

A copy of the CDI’s Notice of Fee Increase and the modified Regulation are enclosed. A copy of the regulation in its mark-up form (deletions in strikeout additions underlined) is available on request.
