Publications Publications produced by the Association are meant to address the informational needs of its membership, legislators and regulators, as well as California consumers. Updated information regarding revised filing procedures and new regulations, as well as changes to the LESLI, are disseminated to the SLA membership through bulletins. The Association also publishes a quarterly newsletter containing a report from the Executive Chairperson and a review of the transactions for the past three months. The SLA's Manual is a compendium of the crucial documents that regulate the California surplus lines market and the operations of the SLA. The Manual includes access to key information (e.g. broker filing procedures, taxes and fees, etc) concerning surplus line placements. The Association provides brochures that describe the development of and ongoing need for a reliable and accessible surplus lines market, and the regulatory requirements created to protect the consumer when procuring insurance from a nonadmitted carrier. |
