Stamping Office Overview
by Deanna Zanoni First of all, I would like to welcome our new Executive Director, Ted Pierce. It is a pleasure to have him on board. Also we welcome our new Executive Assistant, Stephanie Lymore. I am proud to say we are current in our processing of filings. We had a three-month backlog when we began to process Lloyds syndicates individually. We had to hire temporary help in order to return to the current status. We are presently back to our permanent staff with no temporary help with data processing. We are processing approximately the same amount of premium as last year this time. I am looking forward to working with all of you this year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give us a call. 1999 SLA Annual Meetings We have also made arrangements for our Annual Meetings next year. The San Francisco meeting will be held at the Fairmont Hotel on Tuesday January 12, 1999. The Los Angeles meeting will be held at the Century Plaza Hotel on Wednesday, January 13, 1999. Please note: Both of the meetings have changed location. The Los Angeles meeting has also changed its meeting day from Thursday to Wednesday.

Late Filings (cont. from page 1) violations than are recorded. If we tagged each violation, there would be at least three times the number of tagged items.) A broker that has three or more batches containing the same repetitive error is placed on the Repetitive Error Report, which is forwarded to the Commissioner on a weekly basis. The Repetitive Error Report is mostly comprised of brokers with late filings. Almost 90% of the errors on this report are for late filings. A broker can avoid being tagged for late filings by submitting an explanation explaining why the documents are late. The broker should be aware that it is still reported to the Commissioner as a late filing. Policy Filing Reminders All information should be fully completed on the Confidential Report of Placement (SL-1) and Diligent Search Report (SL-2) form. This would include the first and last name of the company representative listed in section 7(b) of the SL-2 form, some forms are only listing a first name. When submitting responses to tag violations, do not include them within a batch filing, this will delay the processing of the tag answers. All tag responses should be submitted separately with a copy of the tag memo. Endorsements extending the policy term for any length of time are treated as renewals and must include SL-1 and SL-2 forms.
